Forsyth County to Compete for a Guinness World Record on National Senior Health & Fitness Day!

Mark your calendars for National Senior Health & Fitness Day on May 29, 2013, and plan to participate in the Celebration of Healthy Aging. This FREE event (for ages 55+) will include entertainment, health screenings, a variety of exhibitors, refreshments, physical activity stations and lots of FUN! Also… can you keep a secret? We are planning to compete for a Guinness World Record in chair-based exercise, and we need your help!

The Celebration of Healthy Aging will be held on May 29, 2013 from 10:00am until 1:00pm at the LJVM Coliseum Education Building. The Guinness World Record competition will begin promptly at 11:00am, so arrive early to reserve your spot and enjoy the entertainment. Following the competition, stick around to visit the exhibitors and participate in the various fun activities.

Do you have a group that would like to attend? Groups are encouraged to pre-register by calling Rebecca Thompson at (336) 703-3219. Individuals and small groups can register at the door. Again, this event is FREE!

The Celebration of Health Aging is being coordinated by a committee of individuals dedicated to promoting the wellness of seniors; and includes representatives from the Forsyth County Department of Public Health, Winston-Salem Recreation & Parks, YMCA, Gateway YWCA, Wake Forest Baptist Health, Kernersville Senior Center, The Living Well Senior Center, Forsyth County Aging Services and community volunteers.
