DEBRA KOONTZ INDUCTED INTO THE NORTH CAROLINA USSSA SLOW-PITCH HALL OF FAME
Debra Koontz of Clemmons, North Carolina was recently inducted into the North Carolina USSSA Slow-Pitch Hall of Fame. Debra played tennis, softball and basketball at West Forsyth High School where she graduated in 1977.
Debra started her softball career at age 14 under the guidance of her father/coach Jerry Koontz. After playing at West Forsyth she went on to play tournament only softball competing throughout the United States.
Richard Fulton, one of her coaches, was her keynote speaker and he briefly highlighted some of her career accomplishments that included winning several state championships and playing in several world championships.
NC USSSA Slow-Pitch State Director Andy Richards presented Debra with the award and had this to say, “I want to be the first to congratulate you on being inducted into the North Carolina USSSA Slow-Pitch Hall of Fame. You have reached an elite level of honor with North Carolina USSSA Slow-Pitch that only a select few have accomplished in their careers.”
